Although the United States Mint began making the Roosevelt dime from copper-nickel clad in 1965, some of the 90% silver dime planchets intended for striking 1964 dimes were stamped by the 1965 dies. And the rest, as they say, is numismatic history. Silver dimes offer an affordable way to accumulate physical silver. Each dime contains just 0.0715 troy ounces of actual silver content, meaning the price per coin is rather modest. And buyers get something that is both trusted and recognizable, because it is an official US coin. 90% Silver Bag Roosevelt Dimes $1000 Face (10000 pcs.) Authorized by the Coinage Act of 1792, the dime is the smallest and thinnest coin in all of the US coins minted. The last circulating silver dimes are dated 1964, and the United States Mint began striking copper-nickel clad dimes in 1965. However, it should be noted that the United States Mint began issuing 90% silver dimes again in 1992 for collectors only. These more recent silver dimes were sold only in proof sets and other special mint products.
The US minted the 1902 dime with no mint mark and also the 1902 O dime and 1902 S dime. The mint mark, when present, can be found on the reverse side of the coin.
